they take a lot of patience to build up...
and traps aren't as effective once people start using about 1000+ troops, since the maximum number of traps is 200.
personally, if i was to restart i'd do teutons, its gotta be fun to break into 1/3 of the crannies, and by comparison to romans their troops are soooo cheap and take about a minute to make with a big enough barracks (i've sat for a teuton before)
DO NOT QUIT AND RESTART. You have another village... spawn to the outpost as quickly as possible. and let him blow up the other village. Starting over, it will take you several weeks to get anywhere close to where you are now and that assumes you are in an area that we can help you build up.
Hey, don't be so downbeat about it.
Cant be any worse than the demolition job done on me @ Saracen1 this morning. 30 wave attack reduced a thriving 400+ population village to rubble with a population of just 75 ! He left me with a Residence L1 & a couple of damaged crannies.
Luckily I had a few minutes notice and managed to get a few troops out. Now I'm busy raiding as frequently as I can to slowly rebuild (other troops had been on a raid and were due back 1 second before his first attack, they stood no chance)
It WILL repel his next attack. He hasn't been sending THAT much. He'll lose most if not all of it. It will probably escalate the issue and he may very well send 50000 or something like that next wave. We have to stand up to him if only as a token...

the loyalty can be lowered to 0%, but if it does hit that, a message will appear saying he can't take over it.
and 0% loyalty doesn't affect anything anyway

EDIT: I'm just putting up an argument, not telling you you're wrong

and I'm sending 1500 wheat to Thunder Bluff to help feed them. 2:44 until it arrives.
