We are friends now and hes extremely well spoken. He is horrible about replying, so do you think you could send a message to him? He can be slow at times. Other than that, hes right next to me with 700 or so pop. Im protecting him because he quit his last alliance.

As for my last Alliance, that was "Van Guard" and when I joined I explained that this was my first server, and I'd never been in Alliance before, so they'd have to excuse my ignorance of how things work..... So they promoted me to recruiter straight away and I started to receive messages like the one below straight away:
"me n mI m8 wna jon uR Alliance."
All seemed a bit shambolic to me (though potentially a good way of finding youngsters to send Legionnaires armed with Dictionaries to*) so I left asap!
This all seems much more civilised, so again, thanks for having me!

there are few nearby to me that i know of that are that large, growing, not in a big alliance and not a farm of mine...

he's a personal ally of mine, and he's a good defender.
Peewee4 lives nextdoor to him, and he managed to, on his own (with only a few resources from me, not that much) fend him off and win the guy's respect with a message along the lines of
'ok, you know how to defend yourself, so i will leave you alone for now. let your guard down though, and i will attack'
i think it's quite an achievement for anyone to do that on their own.
You know, looking over a few farms of mine from weeks ago... I assume they deleted (thier villages are no longer there) OR got taken over by the Zero or MyTh in the area.

Just Scouted his Capital and it looks like he's pretty active and well defended for a player his size/1 month in. Never had any contact with him though.
Population is important... I want to see steady population growth... not necessarily +25 per day but that they are moving upward. Also, how long have they been playing. If they are only at 500 and joined back in February, then they are too slow. If they join within the last 3 weeks, sweet, they love the game and play a lot.
If they lose population a few times a week, that means someone is attacking them with cats. We'd be drawn into a war zone right away.
If there are a few days when there is no population growth, they are not logging in every day.
Location is also very important. I look at who is nearby and if we've had problems with that alliance and also the size of nearby villages.
If the village(s) cannot be supported, they WILL be lost at sometime. If Keebler, TBonz, me, or any of the big defensive troop members cannot get to the villages within 3 hrs, what is the point.
Maxi - is good but he's getting his butt kicked in that area. He's already lost 2 villages all within his original 7x7 to Zero2+ guys. If his capital wasn't there, he'd have lost that too. Seems like he's getting out of Dodge by going to the NE area. His second village is in an empty area. Peace and quiet... I'd hate to jump into another immediate defensive struggle AND tell him to ditch his new village and move the other direct. I'll keep an eye on him though...:(
rnjnips - His two villages are far apart... He's been in 6 alliance since he started in early Feb. Since March 24th, he's had 3 days with no population growth in either village. He's had 3 reductions in pop in that same period. He is near a bunch of UA, DTD, and SPQR alliances.
birdyflapflap - This GAL is a very good prospect. She right smack in the middle of the southern folk and the old powerbase. I could reinforce her villages in about 2 hrs from Aries or Chronos. She joined on March 1 so she's doing good. Her population has been steady without too many reductions (attacks that damage buildings). I will send Her an invite...:D
Killer358 - This guy is all over the place with his three villages. I cannot fathom why. He started on March 20th and already ahs a pop of 1100+. THAT is great. His first village, Alexandria is in a nice quiet area by MickyG without any big alliances. Some of our [GA] friends are within his 13x13 and some RR guys too. NO POPULATION REDUCTIONS and NO OFF DAYS. His village in the South West right within a massive [M] stronghold. His village in the South East is within the LEGMATES grouping and a few KINO X, LEG, and HIT alliances. How these villages stay alive is a wonder. I am worried... he is confusing. GREAT population and growth but weird village locations. I leave this one up to you guys....

SillyViking - Joined March 14th and has grown rather nicely. No down days and no reductions in population. There is only one Zero guy (alakazam) and he's not that big. sillyviking owns an oasis and he put his second village right next to his first. Tom is just north of him also. There are several ETA and [GA] folk nearby. He is right in the midst of Tom, Lambo, and TBonz. I can get troops there within 2 hrs and TBonz should be able to do it in less than an hour. Sounds like a winner. INVITE SENT.
Not sure about Killer358, seems like a guy who plays a lot but maybe doesn't understand strategy. If he was invited then we should be clear on expectations that we have of his future growth.
the only thing about sillyviking is although he is right next to me i am thinking of ditching my three villages there and trying to move to the outpost. i was thinking of doing this 1 because its unsafe 2 because i keep getting attacked by craigthegunner and 3 because ive found a nice 15cropper with 2-50% and a 25% wheat oasis next to it. (in/near the outpost)
Craig IS a problem but now you can work to get those three up... I would pour resources from the two into the capital. Craig is not so close as to have no warning. If we can make that area even MORE nasty by grabbing another member, we can shuffle resources and troops much faster while the bigger guys send troops. I MIGHT even set a village down there to add some strength.
Ba ck to the good news. otoman empire has agreed to join us. Instantly, he's #5 on our alliance. I'd like to thank Skryking for the intel on this great addition to the alliance.
As I told him... I rely on the local Lords and Ladies to find new members. THIS is a great free agent pickup for IC.
