Storing and or Attaching Folders

edited April 2008 in Science & Tech
I have a folder that contains thousands of files in it and I want to send it to a friend as an attachment or store it on the web so that the friend may download it. How do I accomplish this?

When I tried to attach the folder in an email it didn't work. I was only allowed to attach files (which would take forever if I continued).

Thanks for the help

Valid question, but the topic does not constitute an emergency.

    Thread moved.

there are also freeware tools that do this (7zip, for example). You can also use the built-in XP 'compressed folders', which i believe is .zip.

Just right-click on the folder, select send to-> compressed folder.

Right click on the folder and check the properties to see how big it is. There is a limit to how big of an email you can send. Anything under 5 megs is find. 5-10 megs may get rejected depending on what email provider you are using over 10 megs most mail providers will bounce it.
