WTB - a good AGP video card.

I'm looking for a good AGP 4X / 8X video card. Nvidia, Geforce, Radeon, ATI, whatever.

A friend of mine plays World of Warcraft, and for the longest time he's been using a Dell P4 computer with integrated Intel "Extreme" graphics. Yes, it sucks for WoW, even on minimal video settings.

I rebuilt a computer for him to play WoW on. It's running Windows 2000 SP4 (uses less system resources than XP), a 1466 Mhz AMD Athlon CPU, 1 GB of RAM, and currently a GeForce 5100 video card. After playing around with the video settings, I got him 10-12 FPS on minimal video quality settings. It's better than the Dell ever was, but there's lots of room for improvement yet.

So what do you have? I run a Radeon X700 Pro and it's good but not super great, so something of that level or higher would be nice.

I'm also looking for a Radeon 1900 / 1950 xt / xtx AGP card for my computer to upgrade. If I can find one of those I'll sell him my X700 cheap.

hey, i used to have an awesome agp card. Just wanted to give you something to search for on ebay. It was a BFG 7800GS OC 256MB, its an absolutely awesome card, it played COD4 w/o anti-aliasing, no shadows and no smoke smoothing but everything else maxed. Now, with those settings it got around 70-80 FPS @ 1280X1024. It is the best AGP card money can buy...

SO, keep an eye out for a BFG 7800GS OC on ebay, its a great card! GL with the search :).
