Rebooting

edited May 2008 in Science & Tech
I need to reboot my computer but I do not have the discs to do so.

Is it possible to reboot the computer without the discs, or is there a place to get the discs from.

I use Windows XP.

You don't need a disk to reboot a PC, do you mean format or?

I mean to fully restart the computer, so that it deletes all the new programs and returns the computer to its beginning state.

Yeah, reformat. You pretty much need the disk, unless someone knows of another method. If the PC is still under warranty you should be able to get a disk sent from the manufacturer. If not you'll need to buy a new copy I'm afraid :-/

Also, if it's a bigger-brand name PC, you may be able to find the restore ISOs on the manufacturer's website. e.g. Acer no longer ships restore CDs with their new PCs, you either make one from the ISO on the computer when you get it, or you can download the restore CD and all drivers from the Acer site.
