Settler Safety

This idea came to me after I sent my settler away on a long raid to a 3 pop guy, so he isn't killed.

It is simple, when troops are caught in Gaulic traps, they can't be killed.
So the idea is that we raid a Gaul in our alliance that we know has a free trap or two, and then the settler gets released when it's needed.

Out of good will, you should probably pay for the traps...

haha that is actually a really clever idea! :D

*edit*: I'm happy to donate some traps when i've finished building them; I don't get raided that often :D

Unfortunately this round you can't attack alliance members. :-(

    Really?

I just tested it out and I can send troops to you guys...

I know you can't conquer an ally's village...

Ohhh, its very possible I confused "conquering" with attacking. My mistake. But would it not still be against the rules, as it is clearly stated you cannot attack an ally?

It is in the rules, but I think that the person you attacked has to turn you in, because people do make mistakes and hit wrong button like Q did to me last server

...however why do this plan, its easier to send them away then it is to attack, get them trapped, then attack again to free them...to me that makes no sense and on top of that you weill take resources from an ally and then hopefully return them...thats a lot of work when you can just send them away for a nice long trip or store them at a buddies...

But everyone has their way I guess

The capturing village CAN release the troops.... The idea sounds very sound but it must be laid out careful to make sure the settler isn't killed by mistake.

Or if you're confident, you can send them on farming raids and hit it lucky, since they can plunder 3000 resources each.

    It ends up like this:

Yeah, Tom asked my a couple of days ago of he could attack me with his settlers so I could keep them safe in my traps (didn't have any, so had to decline), but I did suggest raiding with them :D
