Make Firefox Open Shortcuts in Vista

edited June 2008 in Science & Tech
(I just started using Vista yesterday so bear with me...)

I'm trying to make Firefox do any and all web browsing (opening links, searching, email, etc...). I gave it all permissions in the Default Programs. The problem is that Internet Explorer has the permission to open shortcuts (.url files) locked. I can't remove that permission from IE even though I'm administrator. This doesn't make much sense.

Can someone enlighten me as to how I can have FF opening my web shortcuts instead of IE? Thanks.

This is Vista Home Premium if that makes a difference...

Anyone know the answer to this? Vista's user account control is probably a step in the right direction but it gets on my nerves sometimes.

Well I'm going to be taking on Vista tomorrow. I'll probably go through it and write up my findings and such. Stay Tuned.

Well, It's not going to be too much of a writeup. I didn't have too much problems with it. I just made Firefox the default browser, and I haven't had any real conflicts. Hell, Gametap still works so I guess it's survivable...?
