Cluster Mascot Idea

So it looks like using Amazon's cloud computing cluster to fold isn't cost effective, so I went shopping:
4-cored-node cluster
base node: $478
each add'l node: $418
per-node stats:
4 cores: $478 (9.6 Ghz) $49.79 per Ghz
8 cores: $896 (19.2 Ghz) $46.67 per Ghz
12 cores: $1314 (28.8 Ghz)$45.63 per Ghz
16 cores: $1732 (38.4 Ghz)$45.10 per Ghz
20 cores: $2150 (48 Ghz)$44.79 per Ghz
and for comparison...
2-cored-node cluster
base node: $424
each add'l node: $364
2 cores: $424 (5.32 Ghz) $79.70 per Ghz
4 cores: $788 (10.64 Ghz) $74.06 per Ghz
6 cores: $1152 (15.96 Ghz)
8 cores: $1516 (21.28 Ghz)
10 cores: $1880 (26.6 Ghz) $70.68 per Ghz
Discuss...? Would probably need a linux guru to get it all working.

Still in the "yet to be transferred" bucket is going to have to be answered by Brian.
//edit: I scrolled up.
Nope, looks like we need an infusion of cash to buy the base node.
