A7N8X-D Problem

edited December 2003 in Hardware
I'm afraid I may have somehow "borked" my four month old A7N8X-D Rev2.

I can't get the system to boot at anything other than safe mode speeds (100 FSB).

Whenever I go into BIOS and change it, it hangs on the reboot. I then have to Clear CMOS.

When I booted into Windows on the Safe Mode speeds, Windows was borked. All kinds of User and Object errors. So I try to reinstall and start getting filecopy errors. Tried a different disk, tried a different optical drive.

I ran memtest86, twenty-five iterations all pass. I ran DLG extended test, pass.

I'm thinking I have a dead MoBo on my hands... I've called ASUS and gotten a Case Number. Anyone have any experience with ASUS tech support?

So, hopefully they'll RMA this board, which works out fine for me, because I think I'm gonna go SFF over Xmas.

Anyone wanna buy a fresh from RMA A7N8X-D when it gets here?

E-mail them, ask for an RMA number; their RMA dept. is excellent.
