Yes, IE has been vulnerable to infections with previous version. Microsoft are trying to make IE safer with newer versions, but I still believe Firefox is faster and safer.
Hi, now that I am trying to use Firefox from MSN (I've never really used IE on a regular basis), I find that I am unable to open some windows. They just keep loading and never actually open. Then other windows won't even open at all. It's still slow in that respect and I also noticed that now when I boot up, there is an extra black screen with some white writing on it that I've never seen before.
I am so frustrated about my internet acting up. Do you have any ideas on that?
Thanks...
When you say that Internet is acting up, are you talking about Firefox? I suggest uninstalling Firefox and then installing it again. See if that works.
Regarding the black screen, can you tell me what it says?
I am not sure if it's Firefox that is acting up or something going on with my Verizon card. I seem to have a decent signal, so I'm just not sure. I did notice this morning that when I went to my bookmarks in the drop down list, they are all gone, like I never put any in there. So frustrating! The other thing that I was trying to do yesterday was open a link to download and pay for a song. It wasn't a file sharing site. It kept saying No connection that a session had timed out with that site and then with Firefox in another message. I've never had those messages before. I'm sorry that I'm not better at explaining what is going on. I did get a message saying that I didn't have the latest version of Firefox and so updated that the other day.
The black screen comes up and goes away so fast that I never have time to read it. I will reboot and see if I can get some of it. It reminds me of the screen that comes up when you are starting up in safe mode.

Which browser? You might be able to recover them.

Which site is it? It could be a site issue.

It is most likely the screen for Safe Mode and other options. I'm not too sure why that screen comes up during every boot. I suggest asking Here and see if other people have any suggestions.
Now I am getting "A runtime error has occured, do you wish to debug?" error message every few minutes. *banging head on desk* Where is that coming from? Do you know how to make it stop it?
Regarding the site, I couldn't find how to pay for a song so I'm not sure if the problem is site related. If you can tell me how, I could check again.

When does it happen? When opening a software or browser?
On www.mp3.com website, I searched for "let them be little" and when the results came up, I clicked on the songs (12) tab. I then clicked on Billy Dean's version. I think it was the second option. Then I went down to that song and clicked on the Download link by it. Then an option came up asking if I wanted to download that song using MusicMatch I believe. I click on download and that's when it sits and loads indefinitely.
I shut my computer down completely last night and today I have not gotten the runtime error box. I don't remember what site in particular that I was on last night when those errors happened. It was probably more than one.
I went to the page you described and again couldn't find a download link. I'm sorry but I can't really help on this matter. I suggest asking in the Software forum here at Icrontic.
Okay, no problem. Thanks for all of your help. Most everything seems to be working pretty good for now. Can I delete or remove any of these programs that I downloaded to run scans? I would like to keep whatever I can to run checks as needed though.
Hi, I have uninstalled ComboFix and deleted Flash Disinfecter. But I do not have OTMoveIt on my desktop. I looked in my programs too and do not see it. I know that you had me download and use it previously, but it's not there now, that I can see. Do you think it's still here somehwhere? I can run a HJT log and post if you need me to.
I have also deleted all of the saved notepad files that were saved to my desktop. I hope that is okay.

Click Start > Run > type: combofix /u > press OK. This will uninstall ComboFix.
You can keep MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, but delete Flash_Disinfector.
Then,
- Run OTMoveIt
- Click on CleanUp!
- Press Yes to download the files needed
- Once completed, press Yes to reboot the computer.
Delete OTMoveIt from your Desktop.Let me know when that is done so I can close the thread.
I have also deleted all of the saved notepad files that were saved to my desktop. I hope that is okay.
You can re-download OTMoveIt2 if you want. If not, no worries.
Let me know if we can close this thread.
