What company manufactured your HDD? There should be software available at their site which can do just that.

Ok, do not get Max-Blast of latest kind, that AFAIK has had the low-leveler removed. Typically the low-level these days is easiest accessed through a tech support call with an FTP link, whihc they can email you. Then you get what you need for your drive. Note, this can TAKE HOURS, I just did a WD 60 GB and it took 6.2 hours on my Barton box, including validation scan afterwards.

Just wondering, but why do you want to low level format?

None of the drives made recently (basically anything over 6GB) will actually low-level format anyway, the only thing you can do is Write-Zeros and thats pretty much it.

You can use any version of diskedit to write zero's to the first couple-a-dozen sectors. Wipes out FAT, partitions, etc.

Takes 2 minutes. Clean as a whistle.
