    The GIMP is not a real replacement for Photoshop.

    One could say it's a gimped version of Photoshop. ;)

    I never implied it as a replacement. A little taken out of context.

    Anyway, I completely agree. In the professional industry, PS and the whole suite is assumed to be used for it's category of software. However, at my consumer level, it gets things done.

    Yup, found the CS4 Master Collection on journeyed.com with a Student/Educator price of ONLY $999.98!!

    The Standard Edition is over $490...


    I'll stick with my CS2, still does more than I need it to...

    CS4 is actually fairly cheap if you consider the amount of time and effort it goes to produce such a well-polished piece of software. It does what you need it to better than anything else on the market.
