Just upgraded from XP Home to XP Pro. Audigy 2 wouldn't work correctly, and Media Center applications don't either.

Have any of you had anything like this happen?

tried uninstalling/reinstalling, tried pulling the card, rebooting/reinstalling the card, reboot, reload drivers and software.

NOTHING WORKS!

HELP!:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

From a fellow Audigy 2 owner:

Welcome to the wonderful world of Creative's drivers.
    Enjoy your stay!

In all seriousness, though... I've never had this particular problem, but Creative's drivers have done other stuff. Since you just upgraded anyhow, I'd say you may as well just format the drive and reinstall. It'd be easier than dealing with the drivers, assuming you have everything backed up.

You need to make sure everything software and driver wise associated with that card is removed from your system. You need to sift through your windows\system32 directory, your windows\inf folder (delete any Creative files you find) and use a registry cleaner (you can find one in the downloads section) to cleanse all strings and trails from your system. Also after uninstalling normally, (i.e through add/remove programs), delete any folders containing Creative program and driver data, i.e in the root directory or in c:\program files.

Once you've done all that, (spend a good while doing it), reboot, making sure you don't go online, install the drivers and (if desired) associated software, off your original Creative driver CD (reboot), then download from Creative the latest drivers for your card and run their automatic setup program.

After you've done all that and rebooted, you still have trouble, post back.

    Cheers

After 2.5 hrs on the phone with Creative Tech Support, we both came to the same conclusion as Geeky :(

We tried everything you mentioned Spinner, unfortunately, there seemed to be some corruption within the registry files - undeleteable!

Just finished a complete format/reinstall of all major software (Just over 4.5 hours. Used Western Digital's Diagnostics Disk to write Zeros to whole drive - 120 gig, ZZZZZZZ!)

Anywho, thanks for your help guys, it's appreciated!

See, thats what XP and 2k need, a registry scanner like 9x had (scanreg). A really needed feature unless it is now automatic.
