WTB Dell laptop power supply

I've been given a Dell Latitude C840 laptop, but it has a borked power supply, so that needs to be replaced before it can really be used.

Does anyone have a power supply laying around that would be compatible with this system (I'm not sure how cross compatible the dell power supplies are), which I could purchase from them?

    I am pretty sure BB or CC would have a universal one that might work

    I'm trying not to have to spend $75 (the best price I've found on a universal (yes, I checked through the Marketplace)).

    Who gave you a laptop? Is there a line to wait in for free laptops without power cords?

    My father gave it to me . It belonged to one of his clients who didn't want it anymore. The battery, Power supply, and HD were all borkeded. I've got a spare HD, and I don't need a battery.
