This is Microsoft's last chance to fix what they did horribly wrong with Vista.

Lose the marketing bullshit. Focus on a solid product, and do what you are GOOD at, MS. Please!

As I said on IRC, with Windows, failure is never an option. It comes bundled with every install...

...I guess I fail to see how giving a name to a product is a bad thing.

Windows 7. Hmm, that does have a nice, no-nonsense ring to it. Hope the name is indicative of the contents and not just a snappy symbol.

Windows 7? Ok, I can deal with that.

But when is Microsoft going to get it? Their product branding sucks!

Windows 3.1. Windows 95,98,2000. Windows ME. Windows NT, XP. Windows Vista. Windows 7.

What a mess. Consistency is such a solid foundation, and Microsoft sucks at it.

Everyone, and I mean everyone knows that Windows Vista is newer than XP. Is consistency really that important?

Doesn't seem to have hurt them much though, eh?

I'm not arguing whether it's hurt the company or not.

But in my eyes, their image is terrible.

It makes it look like they run a sloppy shop and they don't really know what they want.

I'm glad they've stuck to functional simplicity. I hope they stick with it this time.

If Microsoft's math is anything to go by and how they arrived at the number 7 despite making their latest offering version 6.1 then I must agree.
