Identifying Motherboard

edited January 2004 in Hardware
Well i need someway of identifying my motherboard :D

I cant find any markings actually on the motherboard but i will look again later, ive tried MBM but i actually have to select what motherboard i have first :)

Its quite an old motherboard it has a duron 650MHZ(BROOOM) and i was just wondering what i could upgrade this too?

Because its socket "A" what other processors can i stick in there? XP? barton?

Thanks in advance

Look for a brand or sticker on the pcb..or a partnumber.

It's doubtful that it'll take more than a Thunderbird if it's sitting with a 600MHz duron, and the board is "Quite old."

    Download this:

Run it, and post the BIOS ID.

    Mediaman, it's a KT133, though... I think it's probably a socket a board.

    KT/KX133 don't support anything beyond a 1.4 Thunderbird. 'Twas as I guessed.

You don't want to put a 1.4GHz Thunderbird in there to be honest. It's more like a mini-furnace than a processor....

come on, with a decent hsf and some case ventalation the 1.4 is fine. Mine runs at 1.6 all year long.
The catch is that this is a 100 FSB mobo. If it will run async you could run the 1.4. Otherwise 1.30 is all that you will get. You could use any 1.3, 1.33 or 1.4 tbird cpu and just unlock with a pencil and set howeve the mobo will allow.

Er, I don't think anyone is going to get anything from that. Make? Model? etc.

I can't find anything of use. I tried, but the board is some no-name thing.
