Though it's a matter of individual "what works best" I'd like to compare softmenu3 bios settings with some of you ...list your day to day settings and whatever else if you like ...if you don't have specs in your sig you can add those also - like processor ram video ...and case and cooling.

I'll get started here ...specs are listed in my sig:

SoftMenu III Setup

CPU Operating Speed: User Defined
X - CPU Ext Clk (CPU/DRAM): 220
X - Multiplier Factor: x11
AGP Frequency: 66
CPU FSB/DRAM ratio: 6/6
CPU Interface: Enabled

Power Supply Controller: User Defined
X – CPU Core Voltage: 1.80v
X – DDR SDRAM Voltage: 2.8v
X – Chipset Voltage: 1.5v
X – AGP Voltage: 1.5v

Advanced Chipset Features

Memory Timings: Expert
- Row-active delay: 11
- Ras-to-CAS delay: 2
- Row-precharge delay: 2
- CAS Latency Time: 2
System Bios Cacheable: Disabled
Video RAM Cacheable: Disabled
AGP Aperture Size: 128M
FSB Spread Spectrum: Disabled
AGP Spread Spectrum: Disabled
CPU Thermal-Throttling: Disabled
Enhanced PCI Performance: Enabled
CPU Disconnect Function: Disabled
AGP Data Transfer Rate: 8x
AGP Fast Write Capability: Enabled

These are day to day settings running F@H4Console -advmethods -forcesse ...temps vary too drastically to list. When temps get into dangerous highs (53C cpu/30C sys) I simply remove extra SSE boost!

csimon, why the high AGP frequency?
What is the difference between 6/6, 4/4, and auto in the CPU FSB/DRAM ratio? Aren't they the same?

Theoretically they're all 1:1, but I get a higher stable FSB using 4/4.

    Madball had this to say
csimon, why the high AGP frequency?
What is the difference between 6/6, 4/4, and auto in the CPU FSB/DRAM ratio? Aren't they the same?

I raised the agp frequency to increase agp bandwidth. With the nforce system utility I found that 66 and 75mhz did not put a strain on my video card ...but that utility is still very faulty so that may not be true afterall. I leave it at 75mhz and it is stable.

As for 6/6 and 4/4 the ratio is the same as thrax said however some ppl have better results with 5/5 or 4/4 than they do at 6/6 or 3/3 ...who knows I don't have a good explanation but you may find one here http://forum.abit-usa.com/showthread.php?threadid=10640 ...tha_noname swedish guy does a great explantion of things.

    Hi guys, im new here.
I've had my NF7S for couple years now. And its the BEST mobo I've ever bought. NEVER had a problem with it. But I wanna know some things though...
What's the best settings for performance/speed to stick with ?
I have the following hardware: -

    Athlon XP 2800+ (FSB 166MHz x 12)
    2xInfineon DDR400 CL 3 (running at 2.5)
    GeForce FX5200 256Mb DDR
    Hauppauge PVR150-MCE
    80Gb Hitachi/IBM HDD
    LiteOn DVDRW+/- LightScribe

I haven't jotted down my BIOS settings, but I can do this is NEED be. I'm just being lazy right now.

    Cheers people.

Set it to 200x10. Congratulations, you now have an Athlon XP 3200+.

    Don't you mean 200 x 11?
