Is there an avi preview for partially downloaded bit torrent files?

Kazza lite came with a freeware program called avi preview that lets you play movie files while they were still downloading. Is there a similar program that will play partially downloaded bit torrent video files? Thanks.

If the movie is .RAR or any other compressed format spanned across several volumes; no.

However if the movie has been downloaded in increments (Not cached completely and then downloaded on top of the padded bits like the default client; that is to say, when you begin downloading the file, it gradually increases from 0KB to completion), then you may use virtualdub to open the video and have it rebuild the integrity.

Make a copy of the file elsewhere first, and use that copy when you open.

the ATI mmc file player will do the same, just remember that with torrents its not necessarily downloading anything in ORDER, so what you'll see is scattered and disjointed frames

Does the ATI player handle cached files? I have a folder full of avi files that are cached that virtualdub can't open.

I've come across DivX encoded AVIs that won't play if they're not complete movies. I ran across DivFix which rebuilds the index, making the movie watchable. It might be worth trying for that folder full of AVIs.
