Apparently this mobo only has one IDE port which I understand is old news. I dont care so much about my old C drive, but there is quite a bit of stuff on D that I want (it has an IDE connector). I figure if i have to up grade something to SATA, it should be my CD Rom drives. Is that a good plan? I can use the SATA I have as a boot disk.

or just get a new SATA II drive, install windows, copy over information you need, save the IDE as a backup drive or whatever. Performance increase, as well as a new drive without so many hours on it.

*Haven't been keeping up with the thread so I might be out of line.

That is precisely what I would do!
