SATA question

My old Maxtor hard drive is starting to make clicking noises, so It's time to put it out to pasture. The warranty has expired, so I'll have to buy a new drive. It's currently being used for data storage, but I would like a faster drive to replace my system drive (WD JB), which I would move to data storage. The new drive will be SATA. I was wondering if a WD Raptor 10,000rpm drive will work with my the SATA controller on my Nf7-S? Is that drive worth getting, or would I be better off getting a large 7200rpm drive for less money?
