Vista not being able to run Exe's
So I have tried absolutely everything. My computer is pretty old which could probably be the problem to be honest but I'd like to fix it cos it works perfectly well (Apart from this). I recently updated my graphics driver through ATI, and it seemed fine, turned it on the next day and tried to download Real Player and when I tried to run the exe an error message saying "Invalid directory" appeared. Any file I put it in it would do the same.
I've tried clearing my temp file and I cleared recent items, I also disk checked. I have 2 hard drives on this PC. Is one of them broken, or both? Is there anything I can do to fix it apart from reformat and start again. Because getting my hands on a windows vista product key will be costly. If you can help that would be great, thanks Lauren.

Download the newest version of real player from www.real.com
Save it to your desktop.
Once the program finished downloading go to your desktop and double click on it to run it. Then just follow the prompts. You shouldn't have to change any of the default locations when it asks you where do you want it installed.
//EDIT: Also, Mozilla Firefox isn't working; nothing happens when it opens and she can't reinstall it because .exe stuffs don't work.
Open Windows Explorer (is that what it is in Vista?) and see if the c:\windows\temp folder exists. If not, then you'll have recreate it.
