nVidia and Abit split up

GRAPHICS FIRM Nvidia and mobo maker Abit have stopped working with each other, the INQUIRER has learned.
And that's not because Abit has gone down the ATI route. It's due to what are described as "irreconcilable management differences".

Dunno if this is true or not, it is from the inquirer.
But I was looking forward to a Abit nForce3 board.

Seeing as nForce3 is inferior to the: VIA K8T800, AMD8000, and SIS755/FX, I'm not worried.

No that is true, for now.
But I presume that nVidia is working on a better chipset.
They cannot be content with the present situation

Well they had the nForce1, which was their first entry into the chipset market for the Athlon. That had a product life of about 12 months. The next release was the nForce2, and it had 3 months between chip steppings (A3, A2, A1/C1). So there was 9 more months...

If that product cycle holds at all true, we'll see a good nForce2 chipset from them in September/October of 2005. Heh.

Man almost scared me. I thought they were going to stop making more nforce chipsets. Vid cards are ok tho.

    Uh...
The split, which we've confirmed with Nvidia today, affects not only graphics cards but also mainboards too.

Guess Abit and nVidia aren't splitting up after all.
I found this at a Danish hardware site.
No source, and it is not posted at Abit's site

    Abit's plans for 2004
January 8, 2004 - Coming off an exciting 2003, ABIT,
manufacturer of quality motherboards and graphic cards for the PC enthusiast, is ever looking towards the future of PC technology.
From robust ABIT Engineered features to supporting leading industry technologies, ABIT products have been a mainstay for
    hardware enthusiasts around the world.
Now, with 2004 just ahead, ABIT would like to thank
its most valued partners and customers for their
    overwhelming support in 2003.

ABIT will promote a number of initiatives in 2004,
including its concept of Bulletproof Technology.
2004 will also see the proliferation of ABIT's Digital Lifestyle concept,
headed up by DigiDice, ABIT's uniquely designed mini-barebone PC.
Gaming is another important direction for ABIT.
"Gamers and ABIT hardware go hand-in-hand," says ABIT Marketing Director Scott Thirlwell, "Getting more involved with the gaming community is a natural step for us."
Finally, µGuru™, ABIT's innovative solution for hardware management
is going to be even further developed in the new year.
"µGuru was touted as the most advanced hardware monitoring solution by many, and in 2004, it's only going to get better."

One of ABIT's strengths is a strong tie to the hardware community,
which allows ABIT to produce hardware that is most wanted by its customers. This customer-centric focus allows ABIT
to not only stay in touch with its core audience, but gives insight into how its products can be improved further.
Constant innovation is an ABIT cornerstone.
Rather than favoring one partner's products over another,
ABIT motherboards and graphic cards are designed in accordance to market demands.

With a bevy of new products being introduced in 2004,
ABIT will continue to provide the utmost level of support for its current product line, including Intel-, NVIDIA-, VIA-, and SiS-based motherboards, along with graphic cards.
"Our current lineup has garnered numerous awards worldwide, and our support for them on a reseller and end-user level will not diminish in any way."

By listening to the customer, ABIT, along with the help of its partners, will continue to deliver the hardware of choice for PC enthusiasts.
