I don't know about the Wind... but in my laptop was a card or something that specifically said "You must register your laptop within 30 days or your warranty is invalid" or something to that effect along with the URL to register at. Or maybe there was a message on boot up. Either way, I registered within a few hours of getting my laptop and now my laptop is linked to my login info for their site. Makes support requests way easier. Anyway, yeah, probably want to call them and say pretty please unvoid my warranty?

Newegg has a nice-looking Acer that's going for $599 after promo code EMCLVNR29.

I was about to go MSI until I got super pissed at their support. If something ever went wrong with it, I KNOW I'd be dealing with it, since I'm the family tech support guy. I don't want to deal with MSI.
Comments
Now, for MORE MSI BS:
I apparently don't HAVE warranty coverage because I didn't "REGISTER" the netbook within 30 days of purchase. What the living shit.
Support experience with MSI so far: fucking E+
