You should have the mobo power and a 4/8 pin for CPU that is separate. There are 8 pin PCI-E also, but they do not fit in the CPU power thing, so don't force them.

Yeah I found the 8 pin by the CPU. Is there a way to test to see if my Power Supply is good or not?

Make sure the power switch on PSU is actually on :P

That will at least let you see if the PSU will turn on or not.

Tried the paperclip trick and nothing I guess i have a dead Power supply which sucks because I bought it like 2 years ago and just had it in the box until I finished getting all the other parts so I think I am screwed with this one

That blows! You should check warranty on it, many PSU manufacturers have 3+ year warranties.

OCZ's warranty service has always been stellar for me. I'm a huge fan. They'll take good care of you as long as you follow their instructions.

There is no reason that they shouldn't take the return with a purchase invoice showing it within warranty.

Ok so it wasn't working yesterday and now I can do the paperclip test and it starts up. When I plug the mobo and cpu in and Graphics outside of case I don't get anything on the fan is there a way to tell if this is working or not? Should the fan not come on when I do that as well? What other things is there I can do to find out if it is working properly

Ok I have it in the case am able to use the power switch on the front. the fans in the case are they what get hooked up to the system fan pins? If so I can have them running just off of the power supply but when I plug them into the pins on the mobo it stops running any idea what this means?

When they are plugged into the mobo they don't work at all, or they just slow down a lot? You can have them just plugged in to the PSU, but they won't be variable speed.

Easy way to test is to jump the pins on the mobo that the power switch wire attaches to. If you can jump the pins to get the board to turn on and off, you likely have a switch problem...

That said, if the switch will turn things on, there's no reason why it wouldn't also turn things off (unless the switch has some mechanism like a pen where the switch doesn't stay tripped long enough).

Check your wires and make sure your power button is wired to power and reset is wired to restet.

Ok so I am able to turn on the computer with the power switch but it will not turn off. I try holding it in and still won't shut off any ideas? Also I do not see any lights on this mother board at all I will have to look through instructions but there doesn't seem to be anything. If my CPU and Video card fan run from the mobo does that mean it is ok?
