Man, I always seem to be just ONE processor under making red again. Like, my points for 7 days are 4987.. THIRTEEN FRIGGIN POINTS till red, but it'll never happen.

Gotta find one more to add....... :grumble:

    I'll fold in your name.

Just scrounge around in that parts pile of yours for an old Celly or something. That should squeeze out around 13 points a week easily.

meh... it fluctuates depending on the WUs that I happened to get. But if I had one more folding, it would be consistently red, I think.

And perhaps I could get mondi off my tail :D

Me, I am lucky to be to the point (future) where I will be steadily yellow or orange.... Mostly Yellow until I get the new motherboards, IF I get lucky with what WUs I get....

Well perhaps I spoke too soon. I got in to my office this morning to be greeted by the alarm on my Abit NF7-S.... Turns out that before I left on Friday, when I put my box back together, I had an IDE cable stuck in the CPU fan. So, it's been off all weekend.... :rarr:

    Watch out....

Um, my MBM shuts box DOWN if that happens.... Hope you have a usable CPU still.

yeah, it shut down for the whole weekend.

It's been running for two hours now, and it's perfectly fine.. Athlons are built like tanks.

I think thats what he meant, that the alarm on the mobo was alerting him that something was wrong, hence the machine was shut down all weekend....thats what my mobo does anyway it shuts off and beeps the PC speaker :D

There is a CPU fan fail option in the BIOS so if the CPU fan isnt running for some reason it shuts down.

Well, my boxes completely power down when that happens, alarm is then off as soon as capacitors are drained. To have alarm on and box not active, you need a sleep state but not a full shutdown.

Like mmonnin said...it's a BIOS option, so the system is still shut down, but, it's not through windows like with MBM

woot... Hopefully this time it will be a permanent thing. I've added a few random boxes, upgraded most of my farm to 4.0, and next time I get to the one location, I'll add the -service switch.
