Blue LED In Mouse....

I recently put a blue led in one of my mice, and it shines nice, but doesnt respond on my mouse pad. I noticed that it will respond on a white piece of paper, but of course, it wont slide across that. Anyone in here know why that is? I thought of getting a "white" mouse pad, but I really like the black one I have. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

I bow to all of your greatness! :respect:

Perhaps because the mousing sensor is configured only to detect red frequencies.

That would make sense, but with the resistor that I put on it, it would seem that it wouldn't work. Just cant figure it out. Thanks for the reply, Thrax.

A blue LED has a much higher frequency of wavelength then a red LED. Higher voltage is required also.

It will look cool, but probably not work so well; Thrax is right.
