Obviously, if people really wanted a FF7 remake, someone would have made on by now.
Meh, the moment people try to make remakes, Square-Enix shoots them down. There was a Chrono Trigger remake that was well along its way. Shot down. A Secret of Mana remake using the Source engine. Shot down. It just goes on. They do not permit any form of fan-made remakes.

FOR THE RECORD IN CASE WE MISSED IT THE FIRST TIME, I AGREE, PEOPLE WOULD BUY THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF A FF7 REMAKE!!
With that said, I would prefer an original title, and believe that with a little creativity Square could do something amazing with the IP without a straight remake of the title where most of the interested players already know the entire story.
I'd go so far as to absolutely guarantee that Square will not announce a straight remake of that title. If they do, I'll eat something really gross and film it or something. It's not gonna happen fanboy's, what might happen is a new game based on the IP. A sequel, a prequel, an alternate timeline, I don't know? Whatever it is though you can bet Cloud will probably still act more bad ass than his hair style implies, Tifa will still be a hottie, and Barett will probably be voiced by Mr. T.
You have no idea how much I was hoping Barett would be voiced by Mr. T in the Advent Children movie. He practically was MODELED after the man. He even said "fool" once or twice!
