I am devastated to report the following:
Passage to India, which is probably my favorite Detroit area restaurant of all time, has closed.
I'm sorry.

It's every bit as good as Passage to India was.
So the icrontic food tour is a death knell?
p.s. I love how a 20 mile drive is considered "ELEVEN THOUSAND MILES AWAY". Silly Detroiters.
I'll be glad to take people who don't think a 30 minute drive isn't the other end of the earth.
To a Brit, 20 miles is half way across their country.
Sorry guys. There are lots of good Indian restaurants. We have 2 awesome ones over here that are both absolutely delicious. You can't really go horribly wrong with Indian food, as long as an Indian is cooking...
but from my perspective, it has been one of the most consistently wonderful dining experiences that I've had in the area over the years. I could always count on them for amazing atmosphere, food, and service. I absolutely adored the place.
I KNOW there are other excellent Indian restaurants in the area, trust me. remember me? I'm the guy who does the food tour? I'm just sad for this particular place because it was awesome, that's all. It's not the death of Indian food in Detroit or anything like that.
No, I think it's great that they closed down for us. It was awesome of them to cater to us so wonderfully. I just didn't like the food.
Plus: Ethiopian, Cuban, Korean, Chinese x10000, etc.
