I just bought a tower with vista 64bit installed on it , and when I went to hook up my linksys WMP54gx to it , I cant get it to work , and there's no driver update for 64bit that I can find . I read on this site something that was of a possibility to get it working . And I was hoping for a lil more information on how to go about getting the adapter to work on my system , Thanks

Can you list all your specs for your new tower?

Linksys and the company that makes the chip which provides wireless functionality for that card (Airgo) have not released 64-bit drivers. If you wish to use Windows Vista x64, you must purchase a new network card.

Now if it's not a problem and based on now that you know what type of desktop I have , what I wanted to know ( or maybe get some help in doing so ) is how I go about creating a dual boot on my compter with Windows Xp professional 32 bit and Vista 64bit .. keep in mind Vista 64 bit home premium is allready installed on it and I only have one hard drive , if it's posible maybe someone can give the steps on how to do it ,,, And I'm sorry for such a long post , I just want to make sure I explain myself properly to get the help I'm looking for , and so far you guys have been the most helpful , Once again THANKS!!!

I notice from the specifications of your PC that you already have wireless. It came with the PC. Any reason you're trying to get the WMP54gx working?

Yes you are right about that . but there's a few reasons first off - the wireless card that came with the computer has weak reception , and I had WMP54GX sitting here not being used , and it gets to be a pain having to try and download something with barely no signal for internet , and I figured with a dual OS set up I could get a stronger signal ( because the WMP54GX works real good ) , so that's where the dual boot comes into play ( I can get my updates and whatever else easier for this computer , at some point I plan to upgrade to windows 7 and buy a better wireless adapter ) And second - I figure I would do it this way until I could afford a new wireless adapter , I just started school and after buying books this would serve me good for this purpose .and again sorry for the long story with this post , I just want to make sure again i explained myself as good as possible , I'm new to this . so if you could maybe ( PLEASE ) so me how to go about creating a dual boot system , I would be in your debt ,,, THNAK YOU Thrax
