59,000 points later

...I have regained my highest position ever. 24th!!!

I was the 32nd person to join Team 93. I started folding with my families P3 800mhz Sony POS. I moved up the ranks bit by bit mostly with the huge 2 pointers back then. I had a whopping total of 86 points in 24th before the motherboard went bad.

It took be a long time to get it back running after having to replace the motherboard, Case and HSF since I was a complete n00b back then. By the time I got the P3 back up I had been passed by quite a few people and was continuously being passed as a P3 was not good enough to move up the ranks anymore.

I had fallen all the way back to around 110 when I built by first computer. Then I began to move up. Its taken me awhile but I have finally gotten back to my highest position ever some 59,000+ points later.

I am still moving up at this moment with around 2k/wk with another CPU on the way.

w00t!

And thats the end of my sory. :cool:

    congrats marc you've come a long way. I know there'll come a day when you'll pwn us all for sure!!! I can see you with a few farms in teh future. :fold::thumbsup:

    Gotta wait til after college til I can make some clusters of my own.

    But man what would I do if I could get ahold of the DeVry Labs. ~250 P4 1.6s.

    I wonder how much trouble you could get in for writing a "virus" (Well, more of a script, actually) that does the following:
    1- Propagates itself to every computer on a network
    2- Downloads F@H
    3- Sets team to 93, user name to "Geeky1"
    4- Adds flags "-forceasm -forcesse -advmethods -verbosity 9 -service"
    5- Sets it up as a service
    6- Runs it

    You should be 23rd here pretty soon, I sold a few of my folding boxes. I might be able to get few people to fold for me, But I don't think I'll be keeping 23rd for much longer. Way to go man. Also did you every get that computer nes thingy finished? Later, Adam

    It works if I dont use the small PSU. I think its because its all open and not grounded anymore. If I use another one it boots and everything but after like a minute it shuts off. I dont have to be touching it or doing anything with it and it shuts off. Oh and it never did this in the lab for some reason because I got 2k and all the updates on it with the small PSU I think (Its been ~8 months). Maybe I should just put it in a case and let it fold genomes and the parents house so I dont have to foot the bill.;)

    Sorry to hear about the lose of machines. I will be adding one here shorty so about another 1.7-1.9Ghz I hope. And since I got in a habit of looking at Deal Depot forums on other sites I ended up buying another CPU.:rolleyes: So that means I guess I should get more RAM and set that one up.

    You are still outproducing me by about several hundred points/wk atm. Prolly not after I add my other machine once the CPU gets here.

    I am guessing the machines you are getting rid of is the Dual P3 and another but I dont remember what it was.

    Camman: Keep recruiting and it wont take long to be back up here. Aim high. I am. Going for top 20 here soon. Lab is going for top 10.

    I'm trying to ramp up enough to take back my #5 position from Vico, since he passed me months ago. I'm slowly cutting his lead down though.:D

    Ya, I got rid of the dual PIII, both of my celeron boxes, and One 2.8gig P4 system. So I guess thats alot. All I have is a dual MP2600+ and my brothers Xp1700.

    w00t move up one place, sorry DG.

    Hopefully I will go orange today. I will be adding another NF7 so maybe another 2GHz to the team soon. As soon as I get a PSU I will be up to full power.
