    Alright! Voting time! Just to clarify for anyone looking at one of my entries, you're going to need to zoom in to it's full size (bottom middle of the screen, says Full Size). Smaller resolution doesn't do it justice.

    Also, are votes combined for people with multiple entries?

    Yup, look at the high-res versions for more detail, that's what you would see on an actual wallpaper

    I'm not an official judge, so take this with a grain of salt. But if any of the artists would like feedback, I went ahead and wrote down my thoughts on some of the entries that I really took some time to consider. If you find what I have to say useful, that's good. If not, just skim right past me. I'm not here to insult anyone with my critic's hat. (that said, if someone entered a contest, why would they be against constructive criticism?)

    There were certainly a lot of good ideas to go around. However my biggest problem with a lot of them was awkward positioning of the ATi logo. In my opinion, logos should stick to themselves off to the side, rather than be there to punch you in the face, right in the center.

    For me, I narrowed it down to Infrared1, malymato1, mondi1, optix4, and Snarkasm1.

    I -really- wanted to like Malymato's entry, as I loved the look of the typeface. It felt very professional, easily something I could see used in a magazine copy. Sadly, the "engrish" feeling of the wording killed it for me.

    I loved the artistic and surreal look of Mondi's. Out of all of them, it would be the one I would personally use as my wallpaper as I love surreal art like that. Sadly, it didn't include any ATi branding at all, so I couldn't vote on something that didn't fit the rules.

    Optix4's is neat. I see nothing "wrong" with it, but I liked Snarkasm and Infrared just a bit more.

    Between Infrared and Snarkasm... I loved the blue "droplet". But, as cool as it was, Infrared was able to incorporate the logo just a bit better in my eyes.

    I ended up going with Infrared's due to a very crisp use of the circles. They all blended together, and the variance of size and amount of blur was very aesthetically pleasing to me. Couple that with the very smooth color gradient, and the fact it goes into a cool dark green so that the ATi logo "pops" out of the bottom corner, and the EYEFINITY logo featured up front without being distracting... I think we have a winner, in my eyes.

    For what it's worth, congrats Infrared for having such a well-designed piece. Win or not, it looks awesome. :D

    Circles. Over 30% of votes so far was something about circles. I voted for Mime92 01, i really like it.
    I also like Snarkasm's droplet and Greghome's sunset. That's it from me.

    It's okay, and I understand. I would probably do the same thing if I were making this in French or something I'm not native in.

    If you can re-submit it, I would change the bottom text to read
    "Computer screens have never been larger" (made "screen" plural, and changed has to have)
    "Infinite possibilities at work, at home, at play" (made the "At" words lower-case a's)

    You may even switch out "screens" and have it say "displays", so in all it says "Computer displays have never been larger".

    Maybe this helps. Even if you cannot re-submit your entry, perhaps re-do it just for fun and share it with us. :D

    By the way, what font did you use? It looks professional and nice. :vimp:

    as much as I would like to resubmit it... I'm afraid I can't and even if I could, some people probably wouldn't like the fact that I could do it after the deadline :D

    the font's called Perpetia... it's commercial font but it comes bundled with various software... some sites are even providing it for free (not sure if legally)

    and here it is.. reworked... NOTE FOR ALL: please don't consider this as my attempt to resubmit my entry after submission deadline, I'm just posting it here for everyone who might like it :)

    Sweet! Now that looks cool. VERY professional. Like I said, I could easily visualize that being a full-page advert in a PC magazine.

    Also, thanks for sharing the name of the font. I may consider picking it up sometime (I'm a graphic designer, so I like having a wide library of quality fonts).

    I'm a sucker for galaxy images, especially in widescreen.

    Hahaaaa great! But i think the winner is clear. Damn, i inspired the guy to make another image, and bang! Its the best out there!

    And yes lol..True..though now i see my art, its well but..not to be modest..i put the ati logo in the wronge place.. :S i read Bandrik's first comment and that made me think!! but ah well i tried my best ..it was made in a hurry...

    anyway..wow amazing how fast the votes increased for me...and i see come other on the tail as well..oooh this is exiting *eating popcorn*

    It would be nice to know who would win if everyone could vote again. I can see that my vote will not win and I wish I had a chance to vote again on the top picks.

    That kind of defeats the purpose, if you're voting on something based on how other people are voting.

    The idea is to vote for the one you like best.... not which is most popular.
