I believe I will be on the losing end on this one so if we do wipe it clean will there be a way to get a file so we can revisit on our own?

I will let Ryder know how to package the file for single player.

This is excellent. I can vote with confidence now.

Edit: Well no I can't. I think it boils down to a comfort thing. The adventurer in me says lets dive into the new patch, nuke the server, start fresh and experience what there is to experience. The safe side of me continuously reminds me that by the time the patch hits I will have a stockpile of resources in a giant fortress that I can watch and learn from to better be prepared for if/when we do a fresh start. Decisions, decisions.

I'm fairly certain I can clear out everyone's inventory before we make the move, and again after we arrive (just in case).

and my /sethome. Or I can just build a compass and find my way back.

Removing all the /homes is as easy as blanking a file in the server directory and typing reload at the server console.

I'm impressed with how tweakable the game is. It seems like an admin can do *anything*.

thinking about this more - not sure if it would end up as a split community. I'd switch between a server with unlimited resources and a survival server. It's like 2 different games: 1 lego and 1 L4D.
