My computer always forgets passwords after restarting.

Whenever I restart my computer, which is not very often, and I go to various websites that need a login, like this site, most of the time I have to re-enter my user name and password.

Why does my computer forget these things on a simple restart?:confused2 CMOS battery getting too low on power?

Windows XP Home, Gigabyte EP45-DS3R motherboard.

    It will have nothing to do with CMOS.

    Do you have your browser set to delete cookies, etc on exit?

    I don't know. I'll check. It is IE8 with whatever the default settings are. Where do I look exactly? I'll try to find it.

    Where do I look and what is the setting that needs changed?

    IE6 never had this problem......... only the "new and improved" IE8.

    Tools then Internet Options.

    Go back to Windows98 and IE6. Problem solved.
