Small raid question

edited February 2011 in Science & Tech
my (M3N78-VM) motherboard does not show raid numbers except 5.
I have done small research and discovered raid 5 must have 3 + drives.

I have 2 harddrives.
I would like to make for speed (not security, i dont keep important stuff on pc's)
hd1 = 325gb 7200rpm sata
hd2 = 200gb 7200rpm sata

Question is. whats best choice for speed?

    For speed the best choice is RAID 0. Make sure you don't care about your data, because with RAID 0, if one drive fails, the whole array is gone.

    100% understandible.
    As i've already stated though. mines not labled raid numbers except raid 5.
    I have lables like striped, striped mirror, mirror, and others.
    witch choice is RAID 0

    Thank you, Thank you!
    I used to run sata mode on 1 hd and that made it really slow?
    then i switched to achi?? mode (i think it was called) MUCH FASTER
    now useing RAID 0 to even faster.... and did bios update to support quad core.
