Another good night. Halfus gave us more trouble than last week but we got him. Grats to Anne on the bracers and Jimmy on the trinket.

Now, given that we can get Halfus down would you guys like to kill him on an off night to have more time for progression? If we had an extra hour last night we would have had V&T.

Not that I'm nitpicking, but didn't we quit a half hour early? Then again, I know we definitely weren't fresh for that half hour... :P

Only issue I see here is that people who can't make the other night miss out on the opportunity to gear up from the boss(es) killed that night.

In addition, it would be better to simply schedule a second raid night (if the interest is there 80-90%) if people are really gung-ho about progressing. Not to mention the implications it has on the loot system - we'd have to discuss whether these pieces are counted or not (they really should be IMO, since they're coming from a zone that isn't on farm).

But I see this hurting people that were expecting 1 raid night since that's what the expectation was when we started talking about moving here (unless, like I said, people are truly interested in re-adding the second night).

Also, don't forget - you can carry a raid lock over if progression is what you want to focus on, yeah it loses you some loot each week you do so - but that's just the call you have to make.

This is just an idea that was brought up seen as we are pretty good at the Halfus fight now. I just wanted to get the opinion of the raid group on the topic.

I like the idea of 1.5 raid nights. 1.5 to 2hr one night to kill "on farm" stuff (which is not Halfus, yet), and then 4h progression on Sunday.

Also, there's no way I'm going to be able to stay up until midnight on Sundays consistently. I'm not sure how I overlooked that. I'm fine with a long block of raiding, but 11pm eastern is about all I can commit to. Such a solution would help with folks like me who work on Monday mornings.

We have been keeping your time issue into consideration, hence the earlier time each Sunday night. It is hopefully preventing burnout thus far and giving you a better chance to sleep (we've been stopping around 11:15 EST so far on raid nights. That being said, we cannot do a second night fairly unless we have 100% consensus on a fair day.

This is fine - but as Spence said we'd need to be able to have complete agreement on the scheduling of a "farm" night to keep things fair for everyone.

There is no requirement to stay all night if you can't go until midnight - partial attendance still counts towards your total, so if you need to duck out for the last hour, that's totally cool. Just keep in mind that your attendance directly influences the amount of gear you'll be awarded.

If there is agreement on the topic, we could "officially" end raids @ 11 PM Eastern, but I don't really see this addressing the problem this thread was directed at tackling.

I like the idea of doing farm stuff on non-raid nights, but I am not sure Halfus is on farm yet. There are many dragon combos we haven't seen yet.

I also wouldn't mind another 1/2 raid night (maybe 2-3 hours?) .... Thursdays are usually bad for me, but otherwise most nights work for me (which is why I didn't vote in the poll, didn't want to commit to a specific night when many work for me)

Here are the issues I see with this: Based on what was said before, is this a mandatory night? It will almost certainly have to be or we will likely be pugging slots. If it is mandatory and is anything but a select few night myself, and possibly other raiders will take a direct penalty to their attendance which is pretty shitty because the Sunday night thing was set up due to most workable day. In fact depending on the day it would incentivize me to not raid at all because I would be missing so much*.

    * The real issue here is the following: If the raid is not mandatory and you don't have count, then it falls through, we end up seeing only people who it directly benefits show. I'm not saying everyone is out for numero uno but it is a likely scenario that we will see a gradual decline in off nights depending on what is farmed.

** If it is regulated by attendance then we will see people such as myself moving from as 90-100% attendance down to as low as 66% attendance. This may not seem like a big deal for some of you but that really isn't providing the equal opportunity we are looking for.

*** The last scenario is if you get a partial group to clear it. In the partial group situation we end up hurting those that cannot attend because they cannot get the key pieces they need to keep up so we can progress further in content. Sure we could say "well that's too bad you should have shown up," but, at the same time, it is pretty shitty to expect someone to blow off work, class, or other responsibilities so they can make the mini raid.

As it is now it appears we're probably too split amongst days (we would need an overwhelming majority to convince me that this was a good idea). We would all agree more time outside of the designated raid day is a good idea, however, we would need an overwhelming majority of people voting for a particular day to set precedent in my opinion.

Second thought: I very much agree that we are really counting our chickens before they hatch. I really do not see us need 4 hours on a Sunday to work on a single boss at this point, we have more than enough time for all of our current content.

    tl;dr

There's no consensus in this thread, or in the poll.

10-man guilds are clearing BoT or BWD in less time than we are allotting for a single raid night. Let's not put the cart before the horse.

Okay, forget this. It was just an idea that was brought up. We can look at the idea later when we have a few more bosses on farm.

A cat using a chicken as a cart. This is an acceptable submission.
