    thanks.
    BTW this is dancer89.
I haven't been able to find my name in that Sig gen list or the stanford one??
Could someone help me out there?
Also, i have most of my machines doing seti atm, and i don't know which to use. Seti or Folding.
i have done almost 7000seti units.
    Thanks again.

First, I'd like to say welcome to the team, to both you and conformty.

Now, to answer your questions. You won't show up in the sig generator or stanford's stats until your first work unit is completed and the database has been updated to reflect that. I don't remember how often stanford's database updates, but you should be able to find your user name a few hours after your first WU is done.

Second, that's a philosophical question. I've run both, and I like both. However, I've switched to running exclusively Folding @ Home because IMO, there is a greater chance of Folding @ Home achieving it's goal than their is of SETI achieving theirs. Also, although I am a big supporter of all kinds of space exploration, including radio astronomy, I feel that Folding @ Home's goals are really more important than SETI's. But that's just my personal opinion. Like I said, I like both programs. Given unlimited resources, I'd run both, but since my resources are finite, IMO, the logical choice is Folding @ Home.

You could always split it 50/50 or something, too...

I also ran seti but for a short period of time. I definitely would choose folding at home because it has realistic implications for us right here and now. United Devices is also a good philantropic cause but I like the F@H program better because it gives more control. I also think that F@H has the best community. SETI and the others have their place for sure, but my cycles go for the protein folding for right now. Each program has it pros and cons. After all the research and experiences with each, here is where I wound up.

His name has to be on stanford because thats how we knew he joined.

Go to our team stats page (link in sig) and search for your name. Find the position and check to see on the sig gen list for your name. It should be pretty close to that.

    Welcome to the team!

Dancer: I used to run SETI but as Geeky1 put it, the implications of F@H research are more immediate and more relevant, especially to those of us whose lives have been touched by cancer. If you search the forums, you'll find many tragic and touching stories of people's lives cut short by a disease that we have a chance at curing. So, I fold.

I never ran SETI but I did run UD before I found this team. Then I made the switch.

Glad to see you got your sig going. It won't be long until you are honored here - first 1,000 gets you listed!
