This actually hurt to watch considering how much bullshit was thrown at you and how much time you had to refute it. It's just disgusting to watch them play more CoD footage WHILE you point out that this game is completely ineligible for grant money. Regardless, FOX gave you lemons and even though you don't want their damn lemons you managed to make something that vaguely qualifies as a sour/sugary drink that children can sell on the street during the summer and I WOULD TOTALLY BUY IT. Fantastic job Brian, your only problem was lack of time.

From a production standpoint, the studio can't be blamed for that. The director is given B-roll, he doesn't get to pick what's on it. He rolls it while the people talk to keep things interesting - simply talking heads won't cut it. So if Brian refutes CoD, the director isn't capable of going "Oh crap, we can't use CoD, someone get me footage of a more relevant game".
Not that this makes the whole thing any better, but just thought I'd shed some light on that.

Doesn't matter, if they had done their own research before the segment they would know CoD was the wrong game to show and constantly bring up. It might not be the director's fault but they aren't stupid. Whoever choose that clip didn't do it on accident. The whole thing was set up to make people believe CoD gets tax money regardless of what Brian said and playing the clip while Brian talked reinforced that idea and distracted people from him. That's what pissed me off about it.
I think we're forgetting that it's FOX news folks. They aren't exactly the most fair and unbiased news station out there.
That said, fantastic job Brian although you probably didn't reach any of FOX's demographic, you've become a hero of the internet. Reading the comments on Reddit can attest to that.

No, they are that stupid. These people don't play games, they don't know any better than the people they're speaking to.
Plus, it isn't a matter of distracting, it's a matter of keeping the viewer engaged. It might sound like bullcrap, but tons and tons of studies have pointed to TV viewers tuning out when you just have talking heads express an opinion. Viewers want the meat and potatoes - they want to be entertained and fed information. Watching someone talk doesn't do it - televised news exists because of the ability to showcase video.
Simply put, Modern news requires B-roll footage over the people talking because modern audiences will not pay attention without it.
That is awesome!! I love CAD and I saw it as soon as I woke up this morning. You've hit it big time if people are drawing you in successful web comics. :-)
I hate CAD. While that wasn't humorless, it might as well have been. Buckley wouldn't know how to construct a joke if it came with an Ikea diagram.
I wish the PA guys would cover the topic in comic form, it's always hysterical to compare and contrast how much funnier they are then Buckley when they are addressing the same subject matter.

ha, I tried my best. I was too distracted thinking of Ping Pong.
Buy one suit and get one suit, two dress shits and two ties free? what the crap is that?
I'll tell you what.
One seriously overpriced suit.
(Actually, Jos A Bank is one of the nice-clothes stores I've visited once and laughed myself out of.)
and then I was totally
and then I was like
I think they like it
That was what sold the "live blog" for me - commercial coverage. So awesome.

Kotaku covered it as well.

Tim Buckely drew Brian in the newest Ctrl Alt Del comic.
I hate CAD, but man, this is hilarious.
