Swimmers Ear HELP

I went swimming at my uncles pool two days ago. I got water In my ear and didn't notice it until I was on my way home. I slept on the ear that felt full of water and woke up with the same amount, but for some dumb reason, I went swimming again, now I have even more, IN MY RIGHT EAR. It doesn't hurt, it's just...annoying. I have some SWIM-EAR and I started last night, and have been using it like crazy, but It seems like It isn't helping. Remember, I said It doesn't hurt, so It's not an infection.

The even worse part is my bros grad party is on saturday and It's now Tuesday. I'm afraid I will have a full ear with water, and I'm going to have to mow the lawn and so on. How long will it take for this stuff to just GTFO?!

My Right ear Is muffled, music sounds weird in it and It's just plain old irritating. I have to admit though, It does feel more better than It did yesterday. Please, I've started 2 topics on 2 different websites, and all have not answered my question. How long will this dreaded annoying water stick around in my ear?!?

If it were me, which it is not, I would probably put a drop or two if hydrogen peroxide into my ear and let it dissolve the wax that may be trapping the water. Then after no longer than 5 minutes I would probably flip my head and allow it to drain onto a paper towel. Then I might chase it with SWIM-EAR to get the water out. But that is if it were me, which it is not.

So, who do you come to a geek computer forum to register, make your first post under LIFE>FITNESS, to ask HELP for swimmers ear? No really? :wtf::scratch::screwy::eek3:

Bare in mind that in no way I am giving medical advice over a geek computer forum. :hair::buck:

Works great. I usually notice and apply it immediately after swimming.

I tried that just now with my mom, It was a disaster  She poured some in the cap and managed to spill part of it in my ear and the rest down my face and shirt, then I Lay my head down on a paper towel and nothing came out, then I put the drops in and everything hurt a bit. :tim:But, I somehow feel a bit better, like there's just a tiny speckle of water gone :D

Maybe It's passing through my ear canal and through that tube behind it?

Could be draining that route though. Through the eustachian tube. I't still keep sleeping on it until it is 100% better.

This is a childish question but do you think this could ruin my weekend? I have a lot to do to help get ready for my bros grad party at my house!

    Welcome to the forums but...

Why did you join a Tech/Gaming forum to ask about Swimmer's Ear? :hrm:

Why not? He did post in the fitness area, which isn't related to tech/gaming at all (wii fit / kinect / ps eye are not fitness)

Because if you google "water stuck in ear", we are a solid #1 on google. We get hundreds of pageviews a week because of it.

I feel like I posted this exact question here a few years ago. Someone mentioned Debrox and I tried it. Worked well but turned out I had an ear infection. If it lasts longer then 2 days, I'd go to your physician. He'll probably give you some good stuff to take care of any infections that may be starting up in there because of the water. No biggie.

Still remember I had a vacuum cleaning of my ear to remove the wax buildup. Man it felt great. I've been thinking of getting that done again just for the hell of it.

My daughter keeps a small bottle of 80% isopropanol handy. Just a drop or two, wait until you hear the sounds, and flip you head. It lowers the surface tension enough to allow it to run out. It also help with drying.
