Wanting recommendations for cheap used older 3G Verizon hold-me-over smartphone model

Hi folks,
I'm making the jump from an AT&T to Verizon to join my family's plan now that my AT&T 2-year contract is up this month. My brother gave me his old Motorola Droid android smartphone, but it's a bit.... fractured. It powers on, but not really usable.
I'll make my decision for a current phone once the iPhone 5 is revealed and/or released. In the meantime, I'm wanting to get an old used phone to hold me over a few months.
For those that are knowledgeable about older Verizon smartphones and their values, can anyone recommend some older models I could look for? Android platform is preferred, but I only want to spend $60-100 since I'm just going to get a new one in 2-3 months. I would even be willing to suffer with a Crackberry or a WinMo phone.
Related: I started a thread in the buy/sell/trade section. If anyone has an older 3G Verizon smartphone that you'd be willing to let me borrow/rent or buy for cheap, I encourage you to post there.
For those curious, this is the phone my brother gave me. Hahaha.

Yeah, no kidding. I love the part where the entire phone is slightly bowed now. =/
I'm pretty sure any of the older generation droids are going for pretty cheap online as well.
