The state of Cyanogenmod nightlies

As some of you have noticed, there hasn't been a CM nightly in quite some time. This is a result of kernel.org, one of the web's largest repository of Linux source code, getting hacked. This is troublesome for Android developers that rely heavily on this site for code in their projects.

It's unknown when nightlies will resume.

Damn. I was hoping it was something good, like a feature freeze for a new release.

I hope they can get things back on track soon.

Well, in a sense this is old news (hacking of kernel.org)-- they (kernel.org people) said two of their boxes were down for reasons other than hacking. One box might have to be reloaded before it can be put back online (Hera) if they cannot figure out what was injected into it to get the hacker root privileges. They say the lernel itself is intact. This is a digest of what I got from blogs and the handler's diary at http://isc.sans.org and comments after that by kernel.org folks from 2-4 weeks ago.
