Has anyone seen nice 90% or better transparent, extruded, polycarbonate tubing made???

Polycarbonate is not as brittle as normal glass, and quite chemical resistant compared to normal heavy vinyl plastic tubing.... It is also rigid, but I was thinking of an antifreeze liquid cooling system concept... We would need to be able to see bubbles ideally to leak detect or detect pump failure, and for the neat IR lamp effects of antifreeze plus an IR flouresent agent, transparency would be neat....

Does anyone know of such and fittings for same??? They use it now in glasses for both durability and lightness, but I have not seen tubes yet....

BTW, could we have a FUTURE TECH forum area???

John.

Well I have done allot of research in the way of clear pipe.
You should be able to buy clear acrylic pipe in yer home town. No fittings thou.

Here is a link to a company that sells PVC pipe, clear, with fittings. Rather large thou. And you will need to glue it. May be better looken if you just glue acrylic pipe.

Here is a site that sells polycarbonate pipe, but not fittings. They are in india. But you maybe able to find a reseller in the usa.

Id also suggest going threw the yellow pages. Maybe a helpful plumbing supply store, or industrial supply store.
When and if I build my watercooling bong, I am going to go with clear acrylic pipe, and bond it onto acrylic sheets. I think with some practice you could make those joints look good. If you do happen to find clear threaded pipe please share the info.
    Good luck
