My wife hates using a mouse. She wore out a Kensington trackball, it took her eight years. I need to replace it. Is there anything out there that is better than the Kensington? What are the pros using these days?

well.. favorite and trackball in the same sentence... not something you see often.. I think the only reply you will get is from engineers and cad guys...

Kensington is still around? No really, I use the Microsoft Trackball Explorer. I like it except for the new software.

Without a doubt the microsoft trackball explorer, the optical version. I wouldn't part ways without it. I'm not an engineer or cad guy but I wouldn't use anything but my trackball.

OK CSimon, what do people earn their living with?
The Kensington has a large ball, smooth action and a 5 year war.
    But they are $100.

Microsoft has plenty large balls. Enough said.

take your wife to the store and see if she can find one she likes there. My dad uses the MS optical trackball thingy, it's pretty nice, if you like trackballs.

its the only i could find that fits my hand without having a bulky ball in a place where its inconvenient for quick movements. as a consequence, i am a badass with this mouse in FPS... people can't understand it :)

One of my former roomates was the same way...laying down pwnage with the trackball on MOHAA and R6 games he'd play online. He preferred sniping, and with that trackball he could aim much more precisely then I ever could with my mouse.

Erm... You may want to rephrase that, you know...

Anyhow, I can't stand trackballs in general, but the Kensington one looks very good.

FatCat, i always found that one more uncomfortable than mine. it feels like you have to raise your thumb rather than just sit your hand right on top of the mouse. maybe the size of your hand matters?
