Bastion and Limbo are low hanging fruit. Both fairly short and enjoyable to play without much of a learning curve. I'd suggest you knock them off just to feel good about yourself.

Alice: Madness Returns

Really, really awesome. I'm only mad that it took me this long to get around to it.

The art in this game is absolutely gorgeous at max settings. There are so many twisted details.

My only complaint so far is the difficulty ramp. 9/10 fights are easy-peasy and then they throw a giant group of bad guys at you that attack you all at once and kill you and send you back really far through some tedious crap that you have to go through just to get back to the fight and get beaten again. When I finally overcame the frustrating part, things got super easy again. The difficulty curve is a little wobbly.

Alice: Madness Returns, day three

The difficulty curve is ramping up considerably... though the only difficulty comes from throwing a large group of enemies at your face. Individually (even bosses), there aren't really any maddeningly difficult enemies... Just lots of them that tend to gang up on you. The key, for me, has been to keep my distance and pick off individuals with my maxed-out pepper grinder until I can go it and finish the job with melee weapons.

The jumping and platforming stuff hasn't bothered me yet, though I've heard others have found it frustrating. I attribute this to many years of console platforming experience and a really good controller.

The production quality continues to astound. This is a very, very highly produced game. The soundtrack, the art, the voice acting, the writing... they're all absolutely stellar.

I'm looking forward to Alice. I got to get through AI War (blegh) and Alan Wake's Nightmare (which should be fun) first. But I think it'll be a nice change of pace to most other games I play.

Yes. I use a 360 controller for my non-mouse/keyboard gaming needs. For the wireless version you'll need a USB receiver. There are a bunch on Amazon, but this one seems to be the best rated (and has driver instructions if needed).

Cardbridge is seriously one of my favorite levels of all time in any video game. It's so incredibly beautiful and soothing.

I'm glad you haven't encountered any bugs; I had a ton. The puzzles never worked correctly (luckily, the game let me skip them, perhaps because I was on medium and not hard difficulty?). Additionally, there were several times when I had her pepper grinder out and could not switch back to the vorpal blade; only restarting the game fixed that one.

Alice: Madness Returns, Day Final

BEATEN. The final boss fight was insane. Had my adrenaline pumping, me sweating and swearing and raging, but finally I prevailed.

Maxed out all my weapons, but did not even remotely find all the secrets. For some sad reason, there are zero achievements for this game (even though there are Achievements for the Xbox 360 version). Oh well.
