I assume this still does not mean we can group more than four.
So, tonight @Midga and I were mechin', and I decided to play my recently revamped hunchie. Early on in the match, things were looking bad. Midga was wasted nearly right out the gates by taking an AC20 to the back. There was a small skirmish in the midfield city before people started spreading out. We were down significantly, like 4 or 5 Vs 9. I was almost certain we were gonna lose the match.
Time to remember and fight us in mechs! Game has gotten significantly better since alpha.
Fun storytime - The other night when we were playing with Ryokyo and Hitman. It was late game, Basil and Rykyo were down, and Hitman and I survived near a cap point. Hitman and I had decided to make a last stand in a valley between two mountains. Ahead of us were two mechs, an Atlas with something else, and me in my Jager mech with Hitman in his Dragon and we felt like we could take them on. Basil had just died, but he put some hurt on them.
So we buckled in and slowly backed up in an attempt to escape the valley while firing punishment at the two mechs ahead of us. Hitman started yelling on mic to dig in and kill them, so we fired everything we had at them.
That's when I saw the two red blips on my radar on our left.
I spun to the see another Atlas a catapult cresting the mountain to our left side. I had a short "clever girl" moment, before they opened fire on us and destroyed me immediately.
I specced Hitman just in time to see him making this valiant effort in a 4v1 with three Atluses before he went down in a blaze of glory.
The whole bit reminded me of the intro to Mechwarrior 4 where the single vulture engages in a suicide mission to delay the entire invading force, and he just gets completely destroyed while trying to just put a few shots in the enemies
Definitely one of my favorite moments in recent time with MWO
After wiping and installing Windows 8 64-bit, I cannot install MWO. I've installed .Net, DirectX, and visual C++. I've tried "Microsoft FixIt"...
When I try to install it in the default or anywhere else, within a few seconds it errors. It looks like it fails when it is either looking for or updating the Visual C++.
Here is my log...

You may have installed the 64 bit variant, but their installer is requiring the x86 variant and it fails when it attempts to download it to a temp folder.
Comments
Perhaps we could set up a skype convo geared specifically towards mechs and just save the members so that everyone can get a notification.

Then I put the team on my back:
InB4 @Basil says anything. Anything at all.
But seriously, I would pay to have witnessed that match; one little founders Hunchie wrecking some heavy/assault face.
Midga did seem to enjoy specing that Ac20 madness. I was imagining your uncontrollable laughter with each kill, and subsequent smack talk.

Hilarity ensued, check it out here, action starts at 43min.
Dude, FMIM and I'll show you how to FMIM.
