Expo Icrontic 2013 Tickets Now On Sale
It's that time of the year. Tickets are now on sale.
The event will be at ICHQ Detroit. We'll be setting up the LAN in the basement, using the attic for sleeping accommodations, and the first floor, backyard, and carriage house for the rest of the events.
Tickets are $75 this year. This is a return to the 2010 price and reflects the higher cost of running it out of our home than at the (free venue) coffee shop. There is no subscriber discount. We continually run at a steep loss and can't afford to subsidize it as much this year.
If you're scraping by on a Ramen Noodle budget but still want to come, contact Brian or I.
Every year gets bigger. Last year, we had over 70 people. How big will it be this year? That's up to you. Invite your friends and spread the word.

Will we be working out a deal with any of the local hotels?

Third according to EventBrite. The streak is broken.
since i'm at work now, and since my cc is prob maxed-out, i'll wait for payday (thursday, or jeudi in ma neck o' the woods) to get my ticket.
i'd like to sleep in the ichq, wherever is fine. i barely ever sleep and when i do i'm able to do it on concrete floor or duct taped to the ceilling.
also, i'll most likely take the train to Windsor (Ontario Canada) and then request a ride from someone to go across the border.
oh and, i can bring beer. good beer. french canadian beer. the kind of beer that turns your dick into a duck. figure that one out.
Well, from what I understand (and I could be wrong; I generally am), the 2011 ban on liquor was due to the venue's rules and didn't extend to the parking lot, in a sort of 'if you must drink, do it elsewhere and come back' sort of deal.
Naturally, we're not at the venue now, so the ban on liquor may mean "we don't want you to get sloppy drunk, so that whole go-get-drunk-elsewhere crap is out" But then again, maybe it's for a legal reason, for instance "we don't want liquor on the premises during this event because we become legally responsible for something, but go ahead and drink in your car or whatever and come back."
I reckon if you clarify by explaining the spirit of the rule, nobody in icrontic would stoop so low as to lawyer you.
