need help to get a desktop screengrab/recorder

so i basically need a program that will film what's happening on my pc, because i want to start some playthrough/let's play type of thing (for Icrontic/ my Reviews on the Rock)

any advice?
(free if possible)
(open source if possiblier)

http://obsproject.com/ there are guides for setup on their site (a bunch of us followed this one for streaming at 720p, may not be ideal settings for you), integrates with Twitch and other social media if desired. Best is done via full screen game capture, worst is "full desktop" capture. You can save files locally for editing.
