The main draw for this one is that it's "open" to the general TF2 public. A good start for those new/wanting to get into the competitive scene without feeling totally outclassed. In fact there are a few rules limiting experienced pros from entering en mass.

That is kind of a joke. If we want to get past a round or two we need to not play like Tuesday pubs. The team sway is uber important.
Rah the HL leagues, have different experience and skill level groups. You can find a level that fits for you. It's probably more open than this open, since there are no prizes besides a cool little badge.
To little skill and experience, to badasses that can piss me off.
