5900 vs. 9800pro

Ok heres how it goes. im getting ready to build me a new comp and i want a good card. gnome mentioned to me that the 5900 he has rocks. now ive known him for years and trust his advice- but i want some more opinions. i would have liked to have gotten the 9800 xt but thats just to much!

    No one in their right mind would use a 5900 over a 9800 Pro. The 9800 Pro smokes the 5900 in DX8, and it's not even a contest in DX9.

    I NEVER said that it was better than the 9800 pro d00d! you asked between 9600xt and the 5900! thats a no brainer! Ive had both and the 5900 kick the 9600xt;s butt in everything

    Madmat, not when it comes to video cards, no. :D;)

    The 5900 Ultra is a fine card. I like nVidia's UDA much better from an installation standpoint than the catalysts, but the cats have a better ui. The 9800 Pro is much faster than the 5900 Ultra, though. There's nothing wrong with the 5900, it's just not as good as the ATi card.

    The new dets pretty much even the score and a healthy wc oc doesn't hurt either.
