Best vid card in the 20-50 Price range

edited July 2003 in Hardware
Title speaks for itself.

I'm looking for something for my parent's computer, their old card isn't compatible with the AGP port on the a7n8x.

There won't be any games played on it. Nothing more than short video clips...

TNT2 i'd say, or any one of those ATi cards.

You could get a geforce2 in that range.

    GF2MX400 64MB

It's new enough that nVidia should support it for years, and it's fast enough to handle anything, even basic gaming. It's also dirt cheap. They're what I throw in any system I recommend to people who won't be doing 3d intensive stuff.

What about the ASUS GF2 MX-200 that Newegg has for $23?

Anyone know of anything better for not a whole lot more?

The only other things I could find were the R7500 and the GF4MX and those are both over $40.

    Check E-Bay.

I managed to grab a GeForce 2 GTS for $26.00 USD. You might get lucky too :)

I usually check the refurbs at newegg for a good deal :). I don't see anything now, but you never know what may show up
