I got home at about 8:40pm EDT tonight and I look up to see this "star" in the sky that seemed brighter than the others. So I took the photo below at 8:43pm EDT. My coordinates are 39.7390875,-86.1319568. I am looking due West. Anyone know what I am seeing. ("Star" is marked by arrow)
P.S. I am asking a serious question. Am I seeing a satellite, ISS, Venus, etc.?

That's no moon...
ISS would move very fast. Most satellites too.
Put this on your phone. I think Venus was supposed to make an appearance due west last couple nights though.
It's Venus.
Called it. Neil deGrasse Tyson can suck it.
IS THAT LON DON?
Don't have a phone that can support that.
Is it really Venus?
Yes.
Sweet. Never seen it before (or never knew what I was looking at).
It's a pretty good time for planetary viewing at the moment, Venus is in conjunction and visible long after sunset in the west, Mars is in opposition and visible for a couple hours after sunset (also in the west), and Jupiter is also in conjunction and visible for most of the evening starting pretty much overhead and moving west. If you stay up super late or get up early, Saturn is in conjunction and will come up in the east but it will be even closer and more conveniently viewable in a couple of months.
I miss Jack Horkheimer. @Drasnor I read your post in his voice.
I miss Professor Proton.
I miss staying up late enough to look at the stars (also, living in the UP where there was WAAAAAY less light pollution).
